What is swing night?
Every year the Blake High School cafeteria is transformed into a beautiful jazz club with a stage, amazing music from the Eubie Blake Jazz Band (with singers from our choral department), and The Olney Big Band. The evening includes great food, swing dancing, and an amazing silent auction to benefit the Blake Music program!
The evening's dinner is being catered by the Big Greek Cafe, and will be available as soon as doors open to allow everyone time to get seated before the music starts. Items for the silent auction will be displayed in the cafeteria throughout the evening for you to peruse.

WHEN IS SWING NIGHT?
Swing Night will be held on Friday, April 17, 2026. Doors open at 6:15pm and the evening will conclude at 9:00pm. Dinner will be available from doors open until music sets begin around 6:45pm. Desserts will be available beginning 7:15pm and water, iced tea, and lemonade will be available all evening.
Silent auction winners will able to pick up their items at the end of the evening.

HOW WILL I RECEIVE MY TICKETS?
There will not be physical or electronic tickets. A check-in table will be set up outside the cafeteria with a guest list and a seating chart displayed. You and your guests can check in together or separately with one of our amazing Boosters stationed at the table!
HOW DOES THE SILENT AUCTION WORK?
The silent auction is one of our biggest fundraisers and is a great way to support Blake musicians!
The auction is run online through 32Auctions, and items will be available to browse beginning April 9, 2026 and will also be on display in person all evening during Swing Night. Be sure to sign up for an account in order to make your bids! During the evening, the auction system will notify you if someone has outbid you so that you can choose to increase your bid.
Bidding will remain open all throughout the evening up until 9:15pm. Once bidding closes you'll receive a notification if you've won, so you can make your way to the Silent Auction table to pick up your goodies!

Do you offer a staff discount?
Yes! MCPS Faculty and Staff can purchase tickets at a 20% discount. Please select the Faculty Ticket option when making your purchase.
