Trip Update - 7 January 2019
Happy New Year, and welcome to another #journeytonashville update! With less than three weeks remaining until our departure for Nashville, we’ve now hit the homestretch in terms of raising adequate funding as well as preparing our repertoire. We’ve officially reached our initial monetary goal, raising a whopping $15,132.75! These funds, which in large part were generously donated by local Barbershop and Sweet Adeline chapters across the area, help cover the cost of transportation, uniforms, food, and various other expenses on our journey. We cannot thank you enough for your continued faith in the hard work we have put in over the past 6 months, as well as your love for the art and style of singing which we are striving so hard to perfect. As the sole group coming out of Maryland, we are trying our utmost to be the best ambassadors we can be for our state, and without your support none of this would be possible!
Since our last update, we successfully debuted the entire Nashville package at our Winter Choral Concert on December 19th, where we shined in our sparkly new Blake Blue concert attire! Our performance created quite the buzz, and although we are extremely proud of the success of that night, we know that keeping our foot on the gas will only bring us closer to the ultimate goal of taking home the AA Plateau award in Nashville. In fact, the morning after the concert, Mrs. Zinkievich had us right back to work because, as she put it, “we don’t have any rehearsal time to waste!”
Lastly, in perhaps the most seismic news we’ve received throughout this process, A CAPPELLA! was invited to perform and air on NBC 4’s News4 Today Morning Show! Mrs. Zinkievich recently revealed to us that our group has been given the honor of being showcased on their “Live in the Community” segment hosted by Molette Green on Wednesday, January 9th, airing between 6 and 7 A.M. and again at 11 A.M. As a group, we couldn’t be more humbled and thankful to the people at NBC 4 for giving us this opportunity for increased exposure, and we believe that this upcoming experience is just a testament to how our hard work continues to pay off.
